Joshua “steel” Nissan is a British-Canadian professional VALORANT player who is currently playing for T1. He is a former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, where he played for teams such as IBUYPOWER and Torqued. He became known in the scene for his ingame leadership and his ability to develop new talent, but due to his lifetime ban from Valve events (due to his involvement in the IBUYPOWER match fixing scandal) he couldn’t participate in any official events.
He switched to VALORANT in September of 2020 by joining 100 Thieves’ VALORANT roster.
FAMILY
He has three older brothers. He also has two dogs; Roughy and Josie.
GAMING ORIGINS
Steel_tv grew up playing video games with his brothers and began competing with them in LAN events as he got older. Even though he struggled to compete against them when he was younger, he still did his best to improve in order to try to get better than them one day. Outside of gaming, he also played soccer, tennis, hockey and track and field, and even continued playing on his school’s soccer team when he got into high school.
After high school, he went on to study Psychology at the University of Guelph before going on to work in retail and then in IT.
PROFESSIONAL GAMING
HE first started playing Counter-Strike competitively when he was around eighteen years old in 2008. Then during his second year of university, he joined Team Dynamic and began competing with them. By his third year of university he started to compete in international tournaments during vacation in 2010. He joined iBuyPower in March 2014, which really helped to launch his fulltime career.
However, he was banned from competing in any further Valve events in 2015 after a scandal. Therefore, he proceeded to move into coaching positions. He then returned to the pro-scene after being unbanned in July 2017.
He has been streaming on Twitch since December 2011. His channel grew quickly thanks to his established fan base from his pro career.
His language isn’t appropriate for children.
STREAMING HOURS
He doesn’t have a set schedule due to his professional commitments.
